He maintained that it is the command’s resolve to consciously operate on the principles of justice, equity and rule of law as enshrined in the extant laws of the state and federation as operational guide in enforcement of law and order which is its core constitutional mandate.

Grimah, who reiterated the command’s commitment in waging total clampdown on criminals indulging in kidnapping, cultism, and armed robbery in the state and its environs, also assured that the police command under his watch is fully committed to the state governor’s goal of providing safe and secured Cross River State.
He said he had been duly briefed on the security architecture of the state and that he has strategically mapped out a robust onslaught based on intelligence driven policing, deployment of officers and men for visibility policing.

The Police Commissioner maintained that “the police alone cannot accomplish this without collaborative effort of members of the public.”

CP Grimah used the medium to call on the traditional institution, community leaders, religious and youth leaders to see security as a collaborative business aimed at addressing all forms of crime across the state, especially now that a new government is in place.

“The command hereby warns all the enemies of peace, persons or group of persons unlawfully acquiring and possessing firearms to wilfully have a change of mind as contrary will attract dire consequences and prosecution,” Grimah stated.
