GOV. UMO ENO’S CPS, SSA ON MEDIA/ PUBLICITY ASSUME DUTY …Charges Press Corps Members On Productivity

The reappointed Chief Press Secretary, CPS, to Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Ekerete Udo, has assumed duty with a charge on the Press Corps members to brace up to modern day reportage and tailor the A.R.I.S.E. agenda to meet with the vision of the new administration.
The Chief Press Secretary gave the charge in his maiden meeting with Staff and Press Corps members held, Friday, at the Press Center, Government House, Uyo.
Mr Udoh flanked by the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant, SSA, on Media And Publicity, Mr Anietie Usen, acknowledged that it beckons on the press as the fourth estate of the realm to bridge information gap between government and the governed by succinctly analysing, interpreting and translating government activities and programmes to the end users.
This, he assured would be carried out effectively with him and the SSA, Anietie Usen on the saddle, explaining that facilities and congenial work environment would be provided to enhance productivity.
“We are going to have our own room here fully equipped so that when you come back from the field you can process your work with full internet access”, he stated.
The CPS noted that the Press has been repositioned to perform maximally with the appointment of tasted hands to navigate the press in the new administration and hinted that more appointments would be made to inculcate professionals who would deploy great dexterity in the marketing of Umo Eno- led administration in the state.
He sued for hard work and dedication from both the staff and gentlemen of the Press and emphasized on the need for the Pressmen to be good ambassadors of their respective media Organisations by carrying out their assigned task with deligence, noting that commitment and hard work are the watch words for excellence.
In his remarks, the SSA Media and Publicity, Mr. Anietie Usen, expressed appreciation to Governor Umo Eno for finding him fit for the appointment, stating that as a team player he is determined to work with everyone to realize a formidable and dynamic team that will promote Akwa Ibom state.
“We are going to work very closely, get ready to be part of the team because I am a team player. My mission is to lift up, elevate and promote Akwa Ibom State, Akwa Ibom people and Akwa Ibom leaders”.
Usen spoke on regular interface among the members, maintaining that the Corps would be run like a typical newsroom with cross fertilization of ideas for credible reportage.
This, he hoped to achieve through regular meetings, assesibility, provision of gadgets for efficiency and prompt delivery on the job, adding that the Press should be ready to adjust for the much needed change and innovations that will be introduced.
He harped on what he termed the three C’s namely Certificate, Contact and Character , explaining that a successful person must posses Certificate by acquiring formal education, then Contact which he considered as relationship with people and where they meet as well as Character which he said defines ones personality and relationship with others.
The SSA advised the pressmen to focus on the precepts and make a difference in their lives.
In his contribution, Channels Television Correspondent Chris Moffat, thanked both the CPS and SSA for convenening the meeting to usher the Pressmen into the new administration and sued for regular interface in the corps.
He, on behalf of the Press Corps members, congratulated them for their appointment, describing it as meritorious and expressed the determination of the team to work assiduously for the realization of the A.R.I.S.E agenda of the president government.
Highpoint of the meeting was ushering of the SSA, Mr Usen to his new tastefully furnished office within the Press center complex by the Chief Press Secretary.
