GOV. EMMANUEL COMMISERATES WITH THE FAMILY OF ISANTIM OKON • As Late Deaconess Seddy Okon Is Laid To Rest

Governor Udom Emmanuel has commiserated with the family of Isantim Kenneth Okon, on the passage of Deaconess Seddy Okon Udo Mme, mother of Isantim Kenneth Okon, who died at the age of 89.

While conveying his condolence message during the funeral of the Matriarch held at Salvation Army Primary School Field, Ekom Iman, Etinan Local Government Area, Governor Emmanuel said the life and times of late Deaconess Seddy Mme, was a reflection of the impactful life of legacy she lived on earth and pointed out that the essence of life on earth is living right.

He however urged Isantim Kenneth Okon who is his Senior Special Assistant on Waterways/Coastal Matters and the entire family to take solace in the fact that their late mother who bequeathed a life of service to humanity is resting in the bossom of the Lord.

The Governor further observed that the passage of a loved one irrespective of the age, evokes grief and called on the family to sustain the legacy and keep the family united.

“On behalf of the Government and good people of Akwa Ibom, we express our heartfelt condolences on the passing away of your mother. I keep saying there is no best time to lose a loved one.

“No matter what we do we must fear God and do what is right, that is the summary of everything about life, in this life if we don’t fear God and do what is right everything we do is in vain”, the governor stated.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Waterways/Coastal Matter, Isantim Okon, thanked Governor Emmanuel for his love to the family having paid the last respect to their departed mother despite his hectic schedule and pledged to uphold the leadership and sustain the unity of the family.

In his homily, the Archbishop of Christ Army Church Nigeria, Akwa Ibom Province, Most Rev. Daniel Offiong, speaking on the topic ‘How do you want to be remembered? described late Deaconess Seddy as a selfless woman who lived a charitable life.

The Cleric likened the deceased to the Biblical Dorcas as recorded in Acts 9:39, who gave alms to the needy and was remembered for her service and contributions to humanity.
