AKSG INVESTS IN REAL ESTATE AT ATLANTA

The Government of Akwa Ibom State has extended its investment in real estate to Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. This announcement was made by the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel while undertaking the ground breaking ceremonies of the Akwa Ibom House in Atlanta . This project is in partnership with the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (USA) Atlanta Chapter.

The Governor intimated that the money given by the State government is an investment (which has acquired 23 percent equity of the investment)and not a donation. He expressed optimism that the project will yield maximum benefits and will be a veritable source of external financial inflow to the state government.

Giving an insight into the project, Sir Michael Asuquo, the National Secretary of AKISAN and the Project Manager of the Akwa Ibom House Project, said that the project is a 10 Million Dollar project, which will earn a lot of revenue to all the investors. He posited that the location of the project is very lucrative, sited less than 15 minutes from the busiest airport in the world- the Hartsfield Jackson Airport, Atlanta.

The National President of AKISAN, Itoro Akpaniquot thanked the Governor for his continuous support to the organization, assuring that the Organization will continue to support the Government in various ways like medical Outreaches, scholarship wards and empowerment programmes.

Governor Emmanuel was accompanied to the event by the Governor-elect, Pastor Umo Eno, Member House of Representatives, Hon. Pat Ifon, Secretary to the State Government, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, National Chairman Maintain Peace Movement, Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem, Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Felicia Bassey, Commissioners for Works and Fire Service, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Information and Strategy, Prof. Eno Ibanga, Frank Archibong and Comrade Ini Ememobong respectively, Chairman of Eket Local Government Area, Hon. Akan Tommey and Dr Frank Ekpenyong.
