In the Ikon Allah Boys’ win, it was the pacey attacker who was the center of attraction at the Tafawa Balewa Stadium. Waheed was superb in his attacking plays. One of his dashing runs down the flank saw him put the ball on a plate for Abba Khalid who came close to scoring.

In total, Waheed registered 2 key passes, 3 successful take-ons, 6 tackles, 2 interception and operated at a pass accuracy of about 92.3%.

He told Lodgexpress.com during his post-game presser;

“I felt really great during the match. We started the season really well, with a resounding clean sheet victory, and that’s the most important thing.

“We made some excellent build-up plays and scored two great goals in the second half.

“The fans are delighted with the way we’ve started the season, we’re very sure bout that. This is what we want.

About his individual display on his debut, Waheed added;

“I’m happy with the reception here. I’ve settled really quick and I hope to give the team my 100% at all times.

“Our next game will be a great match against new comers, Doma united, they play nice football and got a point in their first NPFL game, but we hope to play a good game in front of our fans.”
