A’Ibom Sports Commissioner Charges Ibom Angels FC On Optimal Performance …As Nigerian Women Championship Sets To Commence

The Commissioner for youth Development and Sports, Sir Monday Uko has tasked the Akwa Ibom State Female Football team (Ibom Angels) on commitment that would earn the club victory in the upcoming Nigerian Women Championship.

The Commissioner gave the charge during an interface with Sports Community today in Uyo.

Hon. Uko while assuring of State’s Government continued commitment to sports development in the State, urged the players to respect constituted authorities and exhibit high level of professionalism to enhance quality results.

The Commissioner who spoke exhaustively on the way forward for Akwa United FC especially as it concerned her recent performances since the beginning of the 2023/2024 NPFL Season, called on the players to beef up their morale and squarely face the business of the game.

He said Akwa Ibom State Government has put in place necessary sporting apparatus including the players entitlement to foster positive impact.

The Commissioner however expressed optimism that the club would overturned it current position as it has returned to it winning ways

He called on all sports lovers to support the team for better days ahead and eschew all forms of divisive tendencies and entitlement mentality that would have detrimental effects to the club’s success.

In his remarks, Head Coach of Ibom Angels, Mr Edwin Okon promised to beef up the team and play to achieve results.

On his part, the Chairman, Sports Writers Association Of Nigeria (SWAN) assured of continued support for Akwa United, Dakkada and Ibom Angels FC and called for regular interface of such meetings for necessary suggestions, recommendations and implementation of ideas for the overall improvement of sporting activities in the State.
