Operating at a pass accuracy of about 91.5%, Anaekwe had shots directed right on target, created chances and scored a swift goal of the highest quality after breaking down the dogged Warriors defence to calmly slot home the opening goal.

Reacting to his role after the game during his post-game presser with Lodgexpress official website, Anaekwe said;

“We discussed a lot about this role of second central midfielder, you can as well call it a box-to-box.

“It’s a role that have you participate in the play when pressing and it allows me participate more in the attack. If you lose the ball at the front, you’re already there to challenge to win back the ball. I really like to play this way. I prefer it, my ideal position is to get more involved in the attack.

“I feel really happy for the win, a great game,” he added. “I’ll add it as one of the best games I’ve played for the team, participating more in the attack and getting a goal as well.

“When it comes to defending duties, we ensure we don’t let them take over the midfield area because that’s where the entire build-up happens. It was a great game for in general and I’m very happy.”
