Eighth Bishop Emmah Isong Annual Public Lecture

The Eighth Emmah Isong Annual Public Lecture will hold on October 26, 2022 in the auditorium of Faith Mansion World Centre, City of Testimonies, Ikot Enebong, Calabar.

The lecture, which has the topic, ‘They Desire a Better Country’ (Hebrews 11:16) will be delivered by the clergy couple, Rev. & Rev. (Mrs.) Emmanuel Edu of Destiny Church International, Tilburg, The Netherlands.

The lecture aims at revitalising the hope of Nigerians and the global community and reassuring the human race that Almighty God is still interested in the affairs of families and nations even as He has promised the righteous a better dwelling place.

The lecture will raise the hope of Nigerians and the world, coming at a time the nations are battling disasters arising from climate change, wars, toppling of governments, increasing food insecurity, unprecedented levels of banditry, insurgency, corruption, and lately as in Nigeria, a ravaging flooding.

On January 1, Bishop Isong prophesied that there would be much flooding in the country during the year, lamenting that rain was supposed to be a blessing rather than a curse. The flooding set out in February and wrought its worst havoc in the months of August to October hitting hard on homes, buildings and farmlands.

Close to 300 persons are reported to have lost their lives to the flooding while over five million people have fled their homes. UNICEF says that the flooding has endangered the lives of 2.5 million Nigerians with 1.5 children at the risk of drowning and malnutrition.
All these add to the anxiety trailing the campaign for 2023 general elections and doubtless, force Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to desire for a better country.

Emmah Isong Annual Public Lecture series, which is part of the bishop’s birthday activities debuted on October 26, 2014. The seventh Bishop Emmah Isong Annual Public Lecture with the topic “Curbing Drug Abuse: A Major Panacea to Reducing Crime in Nigeria”, was delivered by Mr. Rekpere Bassey, a former chief security adviser to Cross River State government.
