Udom Emmanuel commission projects in Itu LG

The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State; Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel has inaugurated four projects embarked upon by the Hon. (Barr.) Etetim Onuk led local government administration in Itu Local Government Council, as well as performed the ground breaking ceremony for an ultra model trailer park, describing the facilities as life touching and complementary.

Speaking during the commissioning exercise on Friday, the Akwa Ibom state Governor who was represented by the State’s Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs; Hon. Frank Archibong said he was impressed with the quality of the projects embarked upon by the Council, adding that the Council chairman and his administration deserve special commendation for ensuring the people reap democratic dividends in line with the State’s developmental policies.

Governor Emmanuel who described the executed projects as top notch opined that Barr. Onuk has written his name in gold, and has made the list of Local Government Chairmen who have performed creditably well while in office. He commended the Legislative arm, as well as Supervisors, Special Advisers and staffs of the council for effectively collaborating with Chairman to ensure service delivery to the people of Itu Local Government Area and called on the people to continue supporting the Council boss so he can still deliver more dividends before the expiration of his tenure.

While delivering his address, the Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council; Hon. Barr. Etetim Onuk who noted that the priority based projects were compelled by necessity, pointed out that the need for a decent butchering area at Etaha Itam Market prompted him to initiate construction of stalls with slabs to ensure high sanitary standards. He said the completed multipurpose market office at the market designed to accommodate a clinic, mini bank and a police post was initiated by Deaconess Elsie Esara whom he celebrated for initiating the project.

The Itu Council boss said the installed electric transformer and multipurpose civic center, equally commissioned by Governor Emmanuel was one of the many ways the administration touches the lives of the people and tasked citizens to secure the facilities against vandals.

The member representing Itu State Constituency; Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem highly praised the Council Chairman, stating that the people of Itu are proud of the person they elected, urging him to sustain the tempo and ensure the completion of other ongoing projects. He said his capacity to lead was never in doubt which informed the people’s decision to reelect him for a second term at the council.

The Clan Head of Itam Clan; Chief Donald Uboh, Village Head of Ikot Abasi Itam; Eteidung Gabriel Ikpenwe and the representative of the village head of Ikot Annie Itam; Chief Asuquo Edidem in their respective messages applauded Barr. Onuk for embarking on life touching projects as well as initiating policies that are beneficial to the people.

Similarly, the Chairman Board of Trustee, Etaha Itam Market; Mr. Godwin Ebong expressed profound gratitude to the Chairman and the council administration for the commissioned projects. He described Barr. Onuk as a market friendly leader who door is always open to all.

Meanwhile, the Project Coordinator; Dr. Samuel Edet who spoke on behalf of the core investor; SUBSEA Services Limited said they will not only construct quality and durable facility, but would complete it in record time.
