AKS Government condoles with Late Paramount Ruler of Ini, Edidem Etim Edward Akpan
Just last Wednesday 21st April, 2022, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Paramount Ruler of Ini Local Government Area, Edidem Etim Edward Akpan.
The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt Hon Frank Archibong ,
described the late monarch as pace setter, peaceful and committed leader whose reign has brought development to the area.
The Commissioner who led management staff of the ministry said the late monarch was loved by his subjects which made his accession to the throne as paramount ruler accepted by all.
He noted that the Governor’s respect for royal fathers has made him initiated medical scheme for paramount rulers in the state where they go for medical check up every quarter.
In their separate remarks, the member Representing Ini State Constituency, Rt Hon Emmauel Bassey and the Executive Chairman of Ini Local Government Area, Rt Hon Isreal Idiasin commended the State Governor and the ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for their show of love and concern towards the people of Ini Local Government Area, the described the death as a great loss and prayed God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, Prince Ubong Etim Edward, son of the late monarch, thanked the Executive Governor and the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for their support towards a smooth transition of the deceased.
In attendance were; Elder Ini Ikie , Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr Emmauel Umontuen, Secretary Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, Directors and Staff of the ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
