NASS Election: Bobby Onofiok vows to restore pride to Oro Nation

A leading aspirant for Oron Federal constituency election, Mr Bobby Onofiok, an Engineer has promised to restore the pride of Oro nation, by providing solutions to all problems bedeviling the area, if given the mandate.

Onofiok, who doubles as the president of Oron Union, United States of America (USA), made the promise recently at Oron while interacting with newsmen.

He decried that Oro was in a cross road, adding, “there is a lot of things that are wrong with Oro, which “needs someone who will be intentional about fixing the problems”

While stressing that all the contestants were qualified to represent Oro, Onofiok, who suggested that what is more pertinent is going for someone who has the antecedent and has served Oro in the past.

The Federal House of Assembly hopeful posited, “if you look at the line up I’m best prepared for this job”
He explained that, “in the past eight years, I have spent my time and resources empowering young Oro men and women to finish their education and get jobs”

“I have also helped entrepreneurs to start businesses in Oro and are now able to employ other people, so is a chain effect, where when you help one person, he in turn help two to three other people and I have done this in the past years”, he said.

He maintained that Oro does not need somebody that will come and just tell stories of all the good things that they will do, but needs someone who has identify the problem.

Onofiok said he has identified the problems of Oro, adding that key on his list were the issue of lack of light.

He said, “We have researched on these problems, like the issue of power, what we need is sub station to be installed here in Oron”

“There has not been light in Oro for the past four years, and nobody has talked about it nor made it their duty to fix that, and we have come to accept that it is normal but it is not normal, so I have said that I am ready to tackle that issue.

“Also is the issue of Maritime Academy which has been at the fore of the house, and by the time I get there I will make sure that bill is debated upon, passed and sent to the president for assent”, he said.

While stressing that “Oronians are tired and wants to see tangible development”, Onofiok, who said “as an Engineer I am trained to solve problems, by first of all identify those problems, and create solutions”, promised to apply the same ideology to politics.

“We have identified the problems, and we are now profering the solutions. So I am saying that I am coming here to start getting solutions and getting things fixed, so that Oronians can start rejoicing as we restore our lost glory”, he said.

He said, “What Oro people should expect from me is the best kind of representation ever, I will be accountable, I will be coming here from time to time to give account of my stewardship. Secondly, they should expect tangible results, and I am going to bring tangible development to Oro that you can point and say oh, we had somebody who was in the house of representatives for four years and this is what he did, and I will restore the pride of Oro”

While noting “this election is not about me, is about all of us and this community”, the aspirant who decried, “we are not where we supposed to be”, pledged that with him in the Federal House of representatives, Oro will be better than where it is right now after four years”
