Shooting Stars captain Taofeek Malomo delighted with goalscoring return
Shooting Stars skipper Taofeek Malomo was delighted with his goal scoring return against Gombe United on Sunday.
The attacking sensation missed his team’s last two games against Remo Stars and El-Kanemi Warriors due to suspension and slight knock, but returned to action for the Matchday 15 victory.
Malomo marked his return with a bang, scoring the opener during their 3-0 win of the Savannah Scorpions.
Gbenga Ogunbote’s team moved to within four points of third-placed Enyimba.
“It doesn’t matter if you start in the starting XI or on the bench, you need to be prepared to make an impact. That’s what I did today and that’s what I want to do always. Malomo told Lodgexpress.com
“We said to ourselves after the last game, to think about higher spots in the table we need to do our job [which] is to win every single game until the end. If we do that I think we have a chance to be there… – top three – and I think if we do our job we have a high chance to be there because it is very hard to win in the Nigeria Premier Football League. Today we did our job, let’s go to the next one.
“It was great to be back in the team and great to get the win.
“The goal meant a lot to me. When you are out of the team or the starting line-up for a few games and you come back in and help the team with a goal it’s always important.
