Sadeeq Yusuf: Akwa Utd will be relentless in pursuit of group leaders Bendel Insurance
Akwa United forward Sadeeq Yusuf believes if the Promise Keepers keep up their pursuit of Group A table toppers Bendel Insurance with the same relentless pace then the current leaders will crack.
Yusuf was in action on Monday afternoon as the Uyo outfit secured a 3-1 victory over Kwara United – a day after Insurance moved eight points clear of second placed Akwa United with Saturday’s 2-1 narrow win against El-Kanemi Warriors.
Reacting during a post-game briefing with Lodgexpress.com, the striker said: “Soon enough, if we keep ticking these wins then they’re likely to crumble.”
He added: “It was a massive win for us. We’ve now narrowed the gap to five points with nine more available this season.
“Even before we started the game, we all knew that we really needed to win it because of what happened during our last game here, and I think we showed real character out there.”
