The Evangelist News Edition, Wednesday August 16, 2023. By Anietie Usen

For the first time since his assumption of office, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State opted to fly the domestic route with a commercial airline. The governor, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, flew with Ibom Air to Abuja, in preference to the State owned Gulf Stream Executive jet. It was a move that caught most airport officials and passengers by surprise, as the governor joined the queue to board the flight.

By so doing, Ibom Air itself marked a significant milestone today as their mid-day flight, QI0202 from Uyo to Abuja departed on schedule from the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo with the State Governor.

The Governor arrived at the airport well before the departure time, underscoring his unwavering dedication and determination to lead by example. In his haste to catch the flight in time, he rushed out of the office, leaving behind the better part of his convoy. The rest of the convoy had to scramble in batches to catch up with the governor in the airport.
