YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE- GOV ENO ASSURES PAUL EKPO

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commiserated with the Member Representing Etinan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Obong Paul Ekpo, and his family on the demise of their wife and mother, late Mrs. Vivian Paul Ekpo, aged 55.

The Governor who led a large crowd of dignitaries including his predecessor in office, Mr Udom Emmanuel and wife, Martha; accordingly expressed the resolve of the Government and people of the State to support the bereaved family in continuous prayers and supplication, assuring that they will never walk alone.

In a condolence message he personally delivered during the funeral ceremony at Comprehensive Secondary School Ground, Nkana-Iman, Etinan, Governor Eno described late Mrs. Vivian Ekpo as a fulfilled woman having accomplished as an educationist and evangelist who won souls to expand the kingdom of God, impacted lives and also remained a pillar of support to her husband through his strides in public service.

“She was a moulder of minds and character, an educationist par excellence, a winner of souls in the vineyard of the Lord and an ever supportive spouse who kept her home front tight while you, the husband, were out there earning your strides as Obong Paul Politics Ekpo.

“I’m particularly delighted that she fulfilled her livelong dream of establishing a school. So even though her life was short, it was very very impactful,” Gov Eno stated.

He conveyed the condolences of the the government and people of Akwa Ibom State over the grave loss and urged the bereaved family to take consolation in the indelible marks she made in her relatively short and fulfilled life as echoed by many that she touched while alive.

“We promise you that in this hour of pain and bereavement, you and your family will never walk alone.

“The large number of people that are gathered here today, across political lines, will tell you that you will never walk alone”, the governor assured.

Similarly. the Senate President, Obong Godswill Akpabio, in a condolence message presented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Saviour Enyiekere, acknowledged that Late Madam Vivian Ekpo will be remembered for her motherly disposition towards all that came her way and as a strong support base to her husband and the larger society, adding that the deceased saw to Paul Ekpo’s emergence in the last elections as member of Parliament, and prayed for a peaceful repose of the deceased soul and consolation for the bereaved family.

In his Sermon, the Akwa Ibom State Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Pastor John Adelekan, preached on the topic, “Ending Your Journey in Peace and Rest”, culled from Psalm 37:57 and identified the blessing of a perfect man as a peaceful end.

He explained that a perfect man is one that adores God, his word and his kingdom in all he or she does, and admonished all to honour God with their lives to secure peace for their end, stressing that everyone, irrespective of group affiliations has an individual end to pursue.

The Chief mourner, Obong Paul Ekpo, thanked the state governor, former governors, federal lawmakers, government functionaries, political class, church, friends and sympathizers for their support.

He described his late wife as God’s gift to him, affirming that the late Vivian marked the advent of many blessings in his life,adding that together they had traversed the various phases of life, wishing her soul eternal rest with the Lord.
