AKWA IBOM DIALOGUE: GOV’S AIDE SUES FOR INPUTS, COMMENDS EKET PROGRESSIVES FORUM

Groups and individuals in Akwa Ibom State have been urged to avail themselves of the Akwa Ibom dialogue programme of the Pastor Umo Eno administration, to make useful inputs towards the ARISE Agenda blueprint of the administration.
The dialogue which will have experts from the different spheres of the economy, holds from Monday July 24, 2023 at the Ibom Icon and Golf Resort, Uyo will culminate in the formal launch of the ARISE Agenda on Thursday, July 27,2023.
The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of on Research and Documentation, Mr Essien Ndueso stated this when he played host to his kinsmen under the aegis of Eket Progressives Forum in his office, at Press Center Government House, Uyo.
He said despite being strictly on invitation, those who are unable to attend will be afforded veritable online and electronic media platforms to channel their contributions during the event.
The Eket Progressives Forum, led by its President, Chief Etebong Harry Ette, was formed more than five years ago, with the sole aim of furthering the socio-political and economic progress of Eket, by pushing for great and progressive leaders for the benefit of Eket and Akwa Ibom State.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr Ndueso who commended the forum for the invaluable contributions towards the success of the election of Pastor Umo Eno recounted that, the Eket Progressives Forum was the first group in Akwa Ibom State to unanimously endorse and mobilize support for the election of Pastor Umo Eno on the 20th of February, 2022.
He said that despite the fact that other groups came out to attack the Governor, EPF’s remained resolute in its unwavering support for Pastor Umo Eno, and assured that the group will have no reason to regret supporting the Governor.
“On the 30th of January, the Governor was unveiled, then from 31st, several people came out with blackmails and propaganda, falsely attacking him over his credentials.
“Then came the issue of Adhoc and statutory delegates which culminated in the infamous ‘status quo ante bellum’ and so on, and in the midst of all of these uncertainties, your group came out and said this is the man you are all going to support and you did it publicly.”
Mr Ndueso recounted further that the President of the group, Chief Etebong Harry was the local government collation agent of the PDP in the March 15 governorship elections and he performed his role so masterly to the admiration of all party faithful in the area.
“And since the Governor is a man who believes that those who work hard would reap bountifully, then I can assured you that you will have no reason to regret supporting Pastor Umo Eno”, he noted.
The Governor’s senior aide reminded them of Pastor Umo Eno’s policy of mandating leaders and stakeholders in the respective wards in the State to nominate personal aides, and charged them to ensure that only credible and hardworking loyalists are nominated to pave the way for effective representation.
Speaking, the President of the forum, Chief Etebong Harry Ette said the group was in Government House to thank Governor Umo Eno for appointing their son, Mr Ndueso as his senior special assistant, announcing that this signaled a beginning of better opportunities for more Eket people in the new administration.
He extolled the virtues of hardwork and enthusiasm usually displayed by the Governor’s aide and expressed optimism that he will make his people proud.
He assured that his group, Eket Progressives Forum will continue to champion the course of good governance and expressed delight that Pastor Eno’s sterling leadership style has already made his name a toast on the lips of all Akwa Ibomites.
It could be recalled that in a communique issued by Eket Progressives Forum, during the declaration of support /adoption of Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as the preferred by Eket Progressives Forum, the group maintained that with Pastor Umo Eno’s antecedents as a foremost entrepreneur with many years of experience, there is no doubt that Eket will be carried along in the scheme of development, together with other parts of the State.
