AKWA IBOM STATE WARD LEADERS UNION (aka Ward Leaders For Umo Eno), Thursday, 4th May 2023, held their first post-elections general meeting at Peoples Democratic Party State Secretariat, Atan Offot, Uyo.
The very colourful event convened by President General, Akparawa Michael BUSH, was well attended by distinguished Ward Leaders and Patrons of The UNION.
In his opening speech, President General of The UNION, Akparawa Michael Bush , commended members for their diligence and dedication during the 2023 general elections.
He charged them on the need for continuous unity and harmony for individual and collective progress.
The 2023 general elections were reviewed by Local Government area representatives.
Data were also collected to help the incoming governor vis-a-vis welfare and development per Ward.
Various motions were moved; such as for The UNION constitution passage, and adopting leaders of newly created wards.
Later, the meeting snowballed into a quasi-launching towards The UNION’s upcoming thanksgiving service holding at Power City International on Sunday, 21st May.
President General BUSH explained that the church event is to thank God for the peace and victory during the last general elections, the Udom years as well as for the next governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
All those present expressed and showed willingness to pull resources for the thanksgiving service and other programmes of The UNION.
Pastor Kufre James Ekpenyong of Southampton, United Kingdom and Akparawa (Obong) Jimaimah Essien of Uyo LGA were presented, inducted and decorated as patrons of The UNION.
Also, Uyo LGA chapter of The UNION was inaugurated with 11 Unit Commanders in attendance to represent the over 400 of the LGA.
The meeting also resolved to support Gov. Udom Emmanuel to finish strong while pledging to do everything not only to usher in Pastor Umo Eno in glory but also to contribute what he needs to succeed as governor.
