Chinese Firm To Partner A’Ibom Special Duties Commissioner For Paper Mill In Oku Iboku

A Chinese Firm, Golden Tripod International Ltd, has expressed its intention to partner the Akwa Ibom Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bassey Okon, to establish a paper production company in Oku Iboku, Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
The General Manager of Golden Tripod International Ltd, Mr Alex Chen stated this Tuesday, May 9, while leading a three-man delegation on a visit to the State Commissioner.
Speaking in the Commissioner’s office, Mr. Chen said the team had earlier embarked on an assessment tour of Oku Iboku Community, where the defunct Nigerian Newsprint Manufacturing Company Ltd was sited and certified that the area was suitable for the establishment of the proposed paper producing company.
He solicited the support of the Akwa Ibom State Government for the successful take-off of the project, adding that when established, the company will further help to increase the employment rate in Akwa Ibom State.
Responding, the Commissioner for Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Dr. Bassey Okon, appreciated the Company for making effort to consolidate on the industrialization drive of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
Dr. Okon informed them that the state government had created the enabling working environment for investors to thrive in the state; noting that their return on investment was guaranteed.
Assuring that he would not hesitate passing the message to the state government, Dr Okon expressed his belief that as a proactive administration, determined to leave behind a legacy of industrialization, the state government would readily embrace the project.
Other members of the visiting team were, Managing Director of Golden Tripod International, Mr. Lin Zi and a director in the company, Mr. Wu Pengbiao.
