Bayelsa Utd star Ebedebiri on Wikki Tourists comeback: This is how we’ll win games…
Endurance Ebedebiri says Sunday’s win over Wikki Tourists was massive for Bayelsa United.
The Yenegoa outfit came from behind to win 2-1 thanks to Robert Mizo and Wisdom Stephen.
The victory fired them to 7th on group B standing with 15 points from 13 games played so far.
Bayelsa United were rock solid at the back, proved by Wikki Tourists’ 12 shots on goal for only 5 on target.
Ebedebiri won 3 aerial battles and made a colossal 13 clearances as well as keeping second half substitute Manu Garba to almost zero influence.
“We had already anticipated a tough game, even though they didn’t have brilliant results in the last couple of games,” Ebedebiri told Lodgexpress.com.
“We knew it would be hard and unfortunately they scored in the first 25 minutes, but we kept our nerve, played our game and we had many chances.
“That’s the way we play – that’s the Bayelsa United way which resulted in the quick fire double before half-time.
“The team spirit, the character that we’ve got to keep ourselves going. The big man [Mizo] got himself in the box and got us all the goal we needed. We’re delighted to get that goal. Everybody was celebrating together after Wisdom scored the second and I think the bench went wild with excitement as well. After the game, the scenes in the dressing room were fantastic.”
“We knew we would have another chance and we did it. It’s a massive, massive win.”
