Shooting Stars captain Malomo: Everyone happy for victory over Plateau United
Shooting Stars captain Taofeek Malomo was delighted to be back for 3-2 victory over Plateau United on Wednesday.
Following their disappointing loss away at Akwa United on Sunday, the Ibadan Soccer Lords attackers were back to their usual attacking prowess at Lekan Salami, led by Taofeek Malomo who returned to the squad after being away on international assignment with the Nigeria U23.
Malomo produced a damaging performance on the left wing, with 4 key passes and playing a crucial role in the 1st and 3rd goal.
“I haven’t been with the team for sometime and they had a difficult week,” Malomo reflected on the 2-0 loss at Akwa United.
“We started great at Akwa United but everything changed in the second half which allowed them score twice. In today’s game we started strongly. We knew how intense Plateau United are and that we had to match them.
“I am sure the boss is happy as well as everyone here. The objective is to win and to do it playing well, which we managed today. This elevates the level of the team as we now set sights on our next game against Kwara United.”
