Kwara Utd star Ayobami Jnr hopes back-to-back victories over El-Kanemi Warriors means they’re back to best

Kwara United playmaker Ayobami Junior hopes back-to-back victories means they’ve turned the corner.

Having comfortably seeing off El-Kanemi Warriors during the final game of the first round in matchday 9 fixture last month, Kwara United made it back-to-back wins – keeping one clean sheet – with a 2-0 victory over El-Kanemi Warriors in the first game of the second round of the season on Sunday.

FB_IMG_1679944329609.jpg“The changing room is a lot happier place after the game,” said Ayobami to Lodgexpress.com. “We’ve had two consecutive wins against El-Kanemi and two have kept one clean sheet, and you can’t really ask for much more than that.

“We’ve needed some clean sheets and to get one on the bounce is nice. When you don’t concede you give yourself a chance to win the game and that’s what we’ve done.

“We’ve enjoyed our training sessions with the new manager and he has given us his ideas about how he wants us to play.

“We’ve got the trip to Gombe United on Wednesday and then the regional derby. There’s no better preparation than two wins before those games and I think momentum and confidence is big in football.

“We’re trying to get a little bit of that and keep it going for as long as possible.”
