Remo Stars goalkeeper Kayode Bankole knew his 6th clean sheet of the season would arrive soon enough.
The Sky Blue Stars had failed to shut out the opposition in their previous meeting, losing 2-0 against Nasarawa United in matchday 9 at the Jos International Stadium last month.
But they did manage to keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 home win over Nasarawa United on Sunday. And Bankole was full of delight.
“I think it has been coming because at our first meeting we did very well and conceded twice,” he said to Lodgexpress’ official website.
“We were talking about the importance of not conceding goals because it helps and today it was a good clean sheet because in the first half in particular we were on the front foot and after we got the goal we had to stay in the game to see it off.”
