Rivers United striker Naibe Akpesiri determined to impress after making his debut

Rivers United new signing Naibe Akpesiri is determined to hit the goals trail after making his debut for the club in the NPFL since arriving from Akwa United during the transfer window.
Akpesiri has vowed to score the goals to help Rivers United defend the title they won after he came on as a substitute in their 2-1 win over 10-men Lobi Stars.
He told Lodgexpress official website: “My main aim here has to be to get goals and help the team win games. I’m confident I can do that.
“I’m just focused on getting goals and if I can’t do that then help the guys get them to win our matches. It’s as clear as that really.
“I like to make use of my strength and pace to get behind the opposition defenders and I did that against Lobi but my shot was just a little too high. It would have been great to have made an instant impact.”
