Gunmen Raze Police Post In Imo

Gunmen have razed a police post at Afor Atta in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State.

This came less than 24 hours after the convoy of the former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, was attacked by gun­men, killing four of his police orderlies.

Although no life was lost in the latest incident, a resident in the area said the gunmen threw explosives into the premises of the station.

The source said none of the officers was on duty during the attack on Monday night.

The same police station was attacked in 2021.

Meanwhile, the state Police Spokesperson, Michael Abat­tam, is yet to issue a statement to that effect.
