Uyo Senatorial District Total Votes Belongs To PDP – USD Stakeholders Affirm

… As Party Flags off Campaign in A’Ibom North East

… Receives Idongesit Ituen, Ekerete Ekpenyong, others from APC to PDP

Leaders, stakeholders and people of Uyo senatorial district (Akwa Ibom North East) have reiterated their position on 2023 general elections, reaffirming their readiness to return candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) elected, assuring that they are a reliable crop of electorates who will not waver in their stance for PDP.

Conveying the position of Uyo senatorial district Thursday October 27, during the PDP campaign flag off for the senatorial district, leaders in the area in their different statements, held that as a show of gratitude for the people-centric leadership of PDP and in support of the line up of credibi candidates of the party for 2023 polls, the people will willing and ready to stand by PDP in 2023 and beyond.

At the event, Governor Udom Emmanuel who appreciated the people of Uyo senatorial district for their support, pointed that the gubernatorial candidate of PDP, Pastor Umo Eno and other candidates of the party are trusted and will not disappoint the people when elected into office.

“I concur with everything that the incoming governor has said. Pastor Umo Eno is reliable, all our candidates are reliable and they will not disappoint”, he said.

The PDP governorship candidate, Pastor Umo Eno while addressing the people, thanked Gov Emmanuel for his numerous strides in the state and particularly in Uyo senatorial district, adding that he will not fail to build on Emmanuel’s legacies and take Akwa Ibom to the next level which he said is possible when he is elected into the hilltop mansion.

“Your Excellency, the people of Uyo senatorial district are grateful for all the projects done by you in this senatorial district. You have made history in governance. Uyo is not only the centre of politics and government, Uyo is becoming the centre of commerce and the centre of innovation.”

“Through the arise agenda that take its root from the Dakkada philosophy, there will be agricultural renaissance; we are going to ensure that we create jobs for Akwa Ibom people.
We are not going to create liabilities for our youth, we are going to create assets for them.”

Before presenting flags to national and state assembly candidates of the party in Uyo senatorial district, the state chairman of PDP, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, who said that PDP the only party known to offer good governance to the people in Akwa Ibom, noted that with what he has seen, the people have shown readiness to work the success of the party in 2023.

According to him, “Uyo has made a clear statement and it is very loud. From the elders to the youth and to the women, everyone has shown readiness for 2023.”

“PDP is the only party that has provided good governance to the people in this state since the return of democracy and that is what has earned is the trust of the masses.”

Akpan at the event also ushered back former Itu state assembly member, Hon. Idongesit Ituen and former council chairman of Uyo, Hon. Ekerete Ekpenyong alongside numerous people who defected back to PDP from the APC, informing the duo of their full reintegration into PDP whose platform they both won elections.

The candidate of PDP for Uyo Senate seat, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey while speaking on behalf of the national and state assembly candidates, expressed gratitude to the party for offering them the opportunity to serve the people, promising that they will not fail the party and the people of Uyo senatorial district.

Earlier, the senatorial chairman, Hon. Ibanga Brownson, the vice chairman of Umo Eno Governorship Campaign Council, Senator Effiong Bob alongside other leaders of Uyo senatorial district, gave assurances of total support for Pastor Umo Eno and other candidates of the party which they held are a fine breed and must be returned elected.

Goodwill messages were presented by Comrade Akwaowo Clifford on behalf of Students, SSA to the Governor on Youth matters, Mr Aniefiok Iwaudofia spoke on behalf of the Youths, Dr Ekaette Ebong Okon delivered a message on behalf of the women, while Mr Monday Eyo communicated the sentiments of the entire Uyo Senatorial District Stakeholders at the event

The PDP Senatorial District campaign flag off for Uyo which held at Ibibio Unity Park, also had in attendance the Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo, leaders of Uyo senatorial district, political groups, among others.
