Flood Alert: LASEMA Warns Lagosians

… Releases mobile emergency lines

Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and other stakeholders have send warnings to people of Lagos state through LASEMA concerning flood alert and also appealed to community leaders to carry out some remedial clearing of blocked drainages in their respective locations.

This is sequel to the perennial flood occasionally caused by heavy rains across the state.

According to the Permanent Secretary LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu, stating the situation report.

He said that ” We received various alerts from NIMETS, Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and other stakeholders concerning various locations at risk and Lagos state have activated the State Emergency Response Plan.

The agency and other first responders intend to remain on high alert and urge Lagosians to remain calm.

Members of the public are to contact the emergency services on 112/767 with reports in their areas.

We will continue to provide updates while actively monitoring the ongoing situation, he added .
