Parts of the Kogi State House of Assembly Complex in Lokoja Have Been Gutted by Fire

Kogi State House of Assembly has been gutted by fire.

The Evangelist understands that the incident occurred on Monday morning — but the cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained.

Salau Ozigi, director of the Kogi Fire Service, said the fire did not extend beyond the chamber and gallery of the assembly complex, according to online reports.

A security guard at the complex told was reported to have said that the fire started around 7am.

As of the time of filing this report, the inferno has abated.
