A photo of an alleged kidnapper, John Ewa, alias Lyon, wearing a campaign T-shirt of David Lyon, 2019 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa has surfaced online.
The ex-banker was also seen posing with some security operatives who reportedly escorted him to a function organised by the APC before the poll.
The kidnap kingpin was arrested during the weekend by the police in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital territory.
A viral video captured the moment he was arrested by the police and handcuffed.
He was shedding tears and pleading for mercy, saying he had only kidnapped people twice.
Lyon was said to have been tracked and arrested in Abuja.
He was said to have used his position as a banker to get information about prospective targets.
