Akwa United will be better next season – Coach Deji Ayeni

AKWA UNITED FC lack lustre performance last season will no longer surface in the coming season. Coach Deji Ayeni has declared in Ilorin after a brief visit to the Publisher of Sportspro News Bayour Issah in his office.

Coach Ayeni who was recruited during the second stanza of the premier league when Boboye departed the Uyo based team said the fans and football stakeholders will now see a brand new team that will contest the first position and eventually represent Nigeria in the prestigious Champions league in Africa.

Coach Ayeni, who is in Ilorin to fraternize with friends and family after a tedious soccer season expressed his gratitude to the Executive Governor of AKWA Ibom state Udom Emmanuel and the good people of AKWA Ibom state for their immense support to end the season well,even though the target is to win a continental ticket.

He particularly praised the club Chairman and Special Adviser on sports Paul Etubom Bassey for the fatherly role he played to keep the team intact for the next challenges.

He advised the players of the club to double their effort to ensure a successful 2022/23 soccer season adding that he would blend the old players and the new ones early in time before the new soccer season begins

The Osun born gaffer has decided to remain with Akwa United despite offers from various clubs in Nigeria and abroad.

The former Sunshine coach later presented a souvenir Jersey of Akwa United to Sportspro News publisher Bayour Issah who noted that the highly resourful coach is right on course to become an international coach of repute.He appreciated him for the gift and wish him well in his endeavour.
