Akwa Ibom SIEC preps to have highest number of valid votes come 2023 general elections

The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKSIEC) in preparation for the 2023 general elections holds a sensitisation seminar to build a solid voter base in Akwa Ibom.

Speaking at the seminar which held at Ibom Hall Uyo on Thursday 28 April 2022, the deputy governor of Akwa Ibom state, Mr. Moses Ekpo said “It is critical that we should be armed properly so that our votes will count. Even in the nominations, the political parties will require that you vote people into primaries, as this factor is important in the voting process”.

He also made mention of cultivating a good approach towards the voting exercise, whether PDP or not, we all should be able to vote responsibly, to make sure that each vote counts.

Speaking also at the seminar, the chairman Akwa Ibom state Independent National Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, spoke on the need to collectively build a solid voter base in our bid to secure a strong and influential presence on Nigeria’s electoral map.

Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak further explained the purpose of the gathering as a means to stimulate a cross-fertilisation of ideas, strategies and modalities that would produce tangible results.

He said “If Akwa Ibom is to achieve the objective of becoming a state with one of the highest number of valid voter registration figures in Nigeria, this would in no doubt be instrumental to making Akwa Ibom state a delectable bride for all political suitors in Nigeria”.

Elder Aniedi urged the carefully selected stake holders which cut across the executive and legislative arms of government, the 3rd tier of government, functional political parties, the traditional institution, Christian and Muslim leaders to put their authority to good use by conveying the outcome of this seminar to different communities beginning from the grass root level.
