UGE for President: Presidential aspirant pays homage to Oba, consults Obaseki and Edo delegates
The National Campaign Council of Udom Emmanuel Presidential Project visited Edo State to intimate PDP delegates to the National Convention from Edo state of the Presidential ambition of Governor Udom Emmanuel.
On reaching Edo state, the Team led by the Aspirant himself, visited the Governor, HE Godwin Obaseki and formally informed him of his decision to run for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He reminded Obaseki that the task of rescuing the country cannot be allowed into the hands of professional politicians, but should be given to professionals in politics like them.
Governor Obaseki in his response commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the mature manner he has executed his campaign, aligning with him on the proposition that professionals in politics are the best to offer qualitative governance at all levels. He wished the Presidential Aspirant success in his political voyage.
The next stop was the Palace of the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, where the Presidential Aspirant paid homage to the Monarch and discussed the current economic challenges facing the country, which instigated him to join the race. Governor Emmanuel said he was very well equipped to provide solutions to the problems he has identified.
The Oba of Benin appreciated the Governor for his show of respect to the palace and informed him that the palace has blessed his pursuit. He extended his goodwill to the Governor and his ambition.
The team moved to the State Party Secretariat where the Presidnetial Aspirant met and interacted with the delegates, led by the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi PhD. The Chairman assured the Presidential Aspirant of the support of Edo delegates.
Governor Udom Emmanuel was accompanied by the Chairman of the Campaign Council, HE Dr. Gabriel Suswam, Director General of the Campaign, Col. Habibu Shuaibu, Sen. Aloysius Etok, Alh. Bala Buhari OFR, Dr. Victor Adoji, Dr. Moshood Fayemiwo, Bola Bolawole and Comrade Ini Ememobong.
