Esit Eket youths inaugurate new exco, commends Governor Emmanuel, others

A new Executive Council of Esit Eket Youths Association (EEYA) was on Saturday April 9, 2022, inaugurated with Comrade Felix Nsebong Ita as National President, after a three year lacuna which was recently settled in Court.

The Association which is the umbrella Organization of Esit Eket Youths, registered under the Company and Allied Matters ACT NO 1 of 1990, has the following as its Third Executive members, since formation. They are, Felix Nsebong Ita, National President, Saviour Imossan Edet, Vice President, Uwem Okon Udo, Secretary, Utibe Ben Utin, Assistant Secretary, Ekwere Daniel Ekwere, Treasure, Ernest Daniel Akpe, Financial Secretary and Edianaobong Asuquo Uttah as PRO 1.

Others are, Dorcas Monday Philip, Woman Leader, Emmanuel Sunday Jack, Organizing Secretary, Nsikan Monday Simon, Auditor, Friday Willie Jonah, Welfare Officer, Kingsley Bassey, Director of Conflict/Reconciliation, Felix Samuel Sam, Director of Special Duties, Kufreabasi Edet, Director of Media & Publicity, Comfort Sam, Woman Leader 11 and Jacob Edet Dan, PRO 11.

In his acceptance speech as National President, Comrade Felix Nsebong Ita poured encomiums on the State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for enshrining peace in the State, a situation he said has created an enabling environment for development, adding that the Governor has performed exceedingly well in areas of Roads, hospitals and other basic infrastructure.

“The Youths of Esit Eket Local Government Area are solidly in support of the completion agenda and succession plan of our beloved Governor who has given us a sense of belonging in the appointment of our daughter, Dr Ini Adiakpan into his Executive Council as Commissioner for Women Affairs and has constructed some important Roads in Esit Eket, we wish to appeal on the Governor to attract one industry into Esit Eket before the end of his tenure”, he said.

Speaking further, Comrade Ita thanked the State ALGON Chairman who happens to be the Executive Chairman of Esit Eket Local Government Area, Rt Hon Iniobong Robson, for his Youth friendly policies and for his empowerment programs which has impacted positively on Youths of the Area, adding that the Chairman has ensured that there was peace and development in Esit Eket.

“I want to specially thank our political leader, Elder Benjamin Udobia who has sacrificed his personal comfort and resources for the development of Esit Eket, over the years, the youths of Esit Eket are indebted to him because he has given the people a political direction of immense benefits and has touched the lives of many people in various ways including scholarship and employment opportunities”,

He also commended Rt Hon Usoro Akpanusoh, member representing Esit Eket/Ibeno State Constituency in the State House of Assembly for his leadership strides.

Exuding with confidence, Comrade Felix Nsebong Ita averred that his administration will carry every youths of the area along and will strive to implement programs that will engage the youths in meaningful economic ventures and as well maintain the existing peace in the local government area, while working closely with political leaders and elders in the community.

“I want to urge the entire youths of Esit Eket to co-operate in unity and one voice to see that we carry the affairs of our community to a peaceful and a better tomorrow, together we will be able to surmount every challenges”, he maintained.

He called on well meaning individuals from Esit Eket, to emulate the magnanimity of Engr Utitofon Edoho, the political leader of zone “C” who has over the years been paying examination fees to final year pupils of some Primary schools in Esit Eket and scholarship to over one hundred students of Esit Eket studying in tertiary institutions across the country. Such gesture, he said, is a long term investment in human development.

Speaking further, the Youth Leader commended Esit Eket Traditional Rulers Council, the BOT members of Esit Eket Youths Association and all those who ensured that there was peace in Esit Eket, especially during the period of the legal tussle.
