By evangelist.com.ng edition, Tuesday July 25, 2023.
The caucus of the People’s Democratic Party, Eket Chapter, rose from a meeting over the weekend, at the Ntaisip residence of Eket Senatorial District Political Leader, Rt Hon Chief Nduese Essien and made far reaching resolutions.
The caucus gave the Governor, HE Pastor Umoh Eno a pat on the back, for the way and manner he has steered the ship of state since taking over the mantle of leadership from his predecessor, Deacon Udom Emmanuel, about two months ago.
” The solid foundation he has laid coupled with his blueprint on his A R I S E agenda is indeed a clear manifestation of the fact that, His Excellency The Governor, is indeed battle ready and taken up the gauntlet, to give the much needed dividends of democracy to the citizenry ”
The caucus equally used the occasion to formally congratulate Pastor Umoh Eno on deeming it fit once again, to reappoint one of our illustrious sons, Hon Frank Archibong as a Commissioner designate in his cabinet.
Dr Nsidibe Akata , member representing Eket State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Economic Planning and Development was also given thumbs up for showing the leeway and for quickly settling down for legislative business in the hallowed chambers. They prayed God for protection, guidance and knowledge for him to be alive to his responsibilities and put up a five star performance in the house.
On the proliferation of some pressure groups within the party, they observed with dismay how they have recently veered off throttle, using them as tools for blackmail and attacks on perceived opponents, thereby portraying the party in bad light.
The caucus read a riot act to the warring factions to immediately sheathe their swords in the interest of peace, justice, equity and fairplay. They equally appeal to the leadership of such groups to channel such energies in productive ventures and come out with great ideas on how to reposition the party positively for the tasks that lie ahead.
On the strident calls for the creation of additional geopolitical zones in Eket, no definite resolution was reached. It was deferred to a later date.
The meeting was presided over by the Chapter Chairman of the Party in Eket, Obongiwaad Emmanuel Mbong who also doubles as the Chairman of the Caucus.
Notable party big wigs present at the no holds barred meeting were the Political Leader of Eket Senatorial District, Rt Hon Chief Nduese Essien and spouse, incumbent state lawmaker, Dr Nsidibe Akata, Eket Council boss, Rt Hon Akan Tommey , Commissioner designate Hon Frank Archibong, past commissioners Dr Dominic Ukpong and Pastor Ita Umoh Udo, State Legal Adviser of PDP, Barrister Akpadiaha Ebitu , past Chairmen of Council, Reverend Barrister Emmanuel Okon Udoh JP and Mrs Abigail Edohoeket , present and past Vice Chairmen of Council, Rt Hon Comfort Emmanuel , Hon Ekanem Willie ‘and Hon Victor Bassey, Deputy Political Leader of Eket Central Zone, Chief Iniobong Idem , wife of Eket monarch, Akwa Obongawan Mandu C Abia , among some chapter officers.
