Nelson Abiam happy Wikki Tourists delivered Katsina United win to fans

Nelson Abiam has thanked Wikki Tourists’ fans for cheering them to victory over Katsina United on the weekend.

“The fans got right behind us against Katsina United and being a Northen derby it was a great win for us,” center-back Abiam explained to Lodgexpress.com. “The last two home wins have given us a great lift as a Club, especially with how tight the league is this season.

“We’ve been playing really well, especially at home. It’s very hard for teams to beat us at Tafawa Balewa Stadium and we’ve only lost one at home all season. Beating Akwa United and again Katsina United gave us a great boost at remaining in the league next season.

“This Club doesn’t want to be, or deserve to be, in the bottom half of the table and the players we’ve got here can prove that this season and I’m delighted we ended amongst the top ten teams.

“The side’s been quite settled and we’ve gelled together and even when we had players who were injured, there were players who came on and were good enough to keep us in the top half of the table.

“The Manager did a great job this season. He’s been amazing with his own style of play and we all learnt quite a lot under him. It’s now time to focus fully on the next competition.
