In his words, “I fill fulfilled today, as a person, for two reasons. One, I had prayed that my boss will be in service, because his hands started this project, and I had wished and prayed that he will come. Sir, I am happy that you made it. I thank you for the vision that God gave to you, this is not just a worship center, but a tourist attraction. So we thank God that we have a place where we can gather and worship.

“The second reason why I am actually fulfilled, is that, in this same house today, we have people across party lines sitting together as God’s children, to worship God, with the understanding that our God is a God of all and not of any political party.

“It has been my heart cry to God, that He will make it possible for us as a state, to come together to serve Him, to contribute to the development of our state, and today, when I walked in here, I saw the Honourable Minister, I saw the distinguished Senator Ita Enang and many others, including our brother in the Niger Delta Development Commission.

“I am happy that we could come together to serve God together, forgetting about ourselves, because this state belongs to all of us. For me, as your servant and as a pastor, I feel very thankful and happy, that we can lay aside our differences, and come under the same roof to worship the almighty God,” he added.

Governor Eno said, having raised an altar, it was necessary to maintain and service it, and announced the appointment of Apostle I. N. George and Rev Dr. Hilkiah Eliata as Coordinator and Secretary respectively, on the Spiritual side, adding that, the technical side will be announced in due course.

In his remark, the immediate past Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, said, the new year service was very significant to the state, and thanked God that as a state, there was a place of worship, an altar for the state.

Mr Emmanuel, who thanked God and the people of the state for seeing to the emergence of Governor Umo Eno, as well as for their continuous support, prayed that God will grant him the enablement to exceed his predecessors, and urged everyone to continue to support the Governor’s development vision, as contained in the ARISE Agenda.

Also, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and Gas, Obong Emem Ekperikpe Ekpo, expressed satisfaction with the godly and all-inclusive disposition of Governor Umo Eno in governance, affirming that Akwa Ibom could not have had a better leader at such a critical season of the state, and prayed God to grant him a prosperous tenure.

On his part, the State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Chris Nyong appreciated God and the State government for the completion of the Worship center, saying, that as contained in the Bible in 1 Corinthians 3:6, Governor Udom Emmanuel had initiated and built the facility, Governor Umo Eno completed it, and God has given the increase.

He said, like the Christian community supported successive Governors, who were members of other professions, they will support Pastor Umo Eno even more being one of them.

In a sermon by Rev Simion Afolabi of the First Love Assembly, he noted that, the Holy Bible is a book of purpose, pattern and fulfillment, adding that, Nations, States and individuals, who were yet to find purpose or fulfill destiny, should embrace the scripture.

Focusing his message on the theme: “Blueprint for Nation/State Building,” he identified Vision – like the ARISE Agenda, Fusion, Fervency, Fencing and God factor, as the blue print for the building of any society.

The event tagged, “ARISE and Shine” and culled from Isaiah 60:1-2, had in attendance, clergymen across various denominational blocks, State and Federal Government officials, including Commissioner of the NDDC, as well as sociocultural groups and people from all walks of life, who jointly offered praises, worship and prayers for the State.
