GOV ENO COMMENDS NNS JUBILEE ON FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH TO RURAL COMMUNITIES … consoles Ekwo’s family on demise of their father

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended the Ikot Abasi Command of the Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS-JUBILEE, for their gesture in bringing free medical outreach to people in the rural communities of the State.
Addressing beneficiaries of the free medical outreach at Government Primary School, Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium LGA, he appreciated the Nigerian Navy for their commitment to corporate social responsibility towards the locals in their operational areas and thanked the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, for sustaining the gesture and doing well to spread the good works across local communities in the country.
The Governor who was visibly elated at the gesture, assured that his administration will continue to consolidate on established partnership, to strengthen the bond of friendship, with the Navy.
Welcoming the Governor to the centre, the Commander, Nigerian Navy Ship Jubilee, NNS-JUBILEE, Ikot Abasi, Commodore Madumon Ide, said, that the gesture was in line with the directive of the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, directing Naval detachments to undertake programmes that impact positively on communities where they operate.
According to Commodore Ide, the medical outreach in Ikot Ekpene Udo, was one of the quarterly outreach by the NNS JUBILEE in rural communities in the state, aimed at delivering free healthcare services, in a bid to balance Military service and community services to ensure a healthy community and foster stronger ties between the Nigerian Navy and the people.
In an earlier event, Governor Umo Eno identified with the Ekwos family in Eket, at the burial of their father, Elder Otto Edem Ekwo.
Speaking at the funeral, Governor Eno expressed deep condolences, over the passage of Elder Ekwo, who died at 85, saying that, while the deceased will be remembered for his selfless services to his community, the bereaved family should endeavour to sustain the legacies of their father.
The Governor also made a detour at Ikot Ekpene Udo, where he condoled with the family of late Chief Ikpe Hanson Akpan, who died at the age of 104.
