GOV ENO MOURNS LATE BISHOP MOSWILL UMOH …Appoints Son Aide On Education Monitoring

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has appointed Evangelist Ekponobong Umoh as his Special Assistant on Education Monitoring for Ukanafun Federal Constituency.

Ekponobong Umoh, a teacher by profession and Minister of the gospel, is son of the deceased Senior Pastor of Rapture Trust Gospel Ministries, and Coordinator of Fathers In Faith Forum for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Late Bishop Moswill Umoh.

Governor Eno announced the appointment during a funeral service held in honour of the deceased clergy and father of the appointee held at Primary School Ikot Obio Okpoho, Ukanafun Local Government Area.

The Governor also indicated government intention to construct the road connecting Ikot Obio Okpoho in Ukanafun to Etim Ekpo LGA and directed the Commissioner for Works and Fire Service, Professor Eno Ibanga, to commence procedures towards the project.

In a message of condolence on behalf of the government and people of the State, Governor Eno, described the departed Bishop as God’s General in the Akwa Ibom church community, who has been committed to winning souls for Christ for over 30 years.

According to the Governor, beyond being a passionate worker in God’s vineyard, the late Moswill Umoh was an advocate of good governance, which he demonstrated in his involvement in utilizing the Fathers in Faith platform to mobilize the church community towards his emergence as governor in the last guber election.

He acknowledged that the late Bishop Umoh was a friend and confidant who had played a fatherly role in his life and upheld him in critical times of his life journey to withstand the war of lies and character assassination unleashed on him during the process of electioneering.

He therefore pledged his commitment to honour the deceased Father in Faith by living up to his expectation and believed in him as having capacity to raise the bar of leadership and development in the state by ensuring the implementation of the ARISE Agenda which, he affirmed, Bishop Umoh was passionate about.

While consoling the bereaved family Governor Eno expressed trust that his legacies will be sustained by his progeny, both in the church community and in government.

In a message of appreciation on behalf of the bereaved family, the Chief Mourner, Pastor Ekponoabasi Umoh, described the day as divinely ordained and thanked God for the honour done his father, late Bishop Moswill Umoh, and thanked the Governor, the Church community and people of the state for supporting the family through the period of the funeral .

Delivering a sermon titled, “The Problem is not About Death”, with scriptural reference from Luke 16:22, the General Overseer of Christians Central Chapel, Calabar, Bishop Emma Isong, said every man shall die someday as appointed by God, and described as vanity, doing so much to protect ones body from death, without securing ones soul from the second death and the destruction of the soul after the first death.

Bishop Isong said Moswill Umoh’s death is not just about the seizure of his breath, but a transition of his soul to the life that Christ has secured for him as a reward for serving God, hence beckoned on the congregants to come to Christ for a covenant of life with God and secure their souls from the final and eternal destruction.
