Welfare Scheme: A’Ibom Police Dole Out N49m To 123 Beneficiaries

The Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, CP Olatoye Durosinmi has presented Group Life Assurance Cheques and Personal accident scheme cheques worth forty-nine million naira to the next of kins of fallen heroes and some serving Officers who were involved in some form of accident in the course of performing their lawful duties.
The State Police Public Relations Officer SP Odiko Macdon in a statement made available to Journalists on Sunday said the CP made the presentation on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Phd, NPM.
Accordingly to him, “The CP, while presenting the cheques to beneficiaries noted that the pains associated with the loss of loved ones cannot be compared to the value of the cheques but that it was the IGP’s way of sharing in their pains and ameliorating their hardship”.
The CP urged them to use the funds wisely while thanking the IGP for the gesture which he noted will encourage serving Officers to put in their best. ( New Telegraph).
