EXCLUSIVE: APC Concedes Ministerial Appointment To Wike

APC in Rivers has conceded a ministerial appointment to Wike.
Our source reports that APC in Rivers stated this during a media briefing by some of its leaders. The leaders of the All Progressives Congress, under the aegis of Amalgamated Bola Tinubu Campaign Council Rivers State, led by former Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Government and stalwart of the party, Chief Tony Okocha, stated this on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to a report by Vanguard, Okocha called on President Bola Tinubu to give the ministerial slot for Rivers to Wike in view of the enormous roles the ex-Governor played for his victory in Rivers. According to him, Tinubu would not have won in the state without Wike’s help.
The APC leader took a swipe at Senator Magnus Abe who he said has been praising Tinubu lately. Okocha disclosed that Abe abandoned the party and Tinubu when he was needed the most. He also revealed that Abe joined a rival party and worked against Tinubu in his polling unit, ward and LGA during the election.
Supporting his point, he stated that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, always won elections in Rivers. He said the party won the state during the 2015 and 2019 when former Governor, Rotimi Amaechi was the Director General of Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign.
However, the APC Chieftain stated that Wike helped PDP to win all other posts in the state but backed Tinubu to win the state during the presidential poll. So, he noted that the Ex-Governor deserves the slot for his roles that helped Tinubu to win
