EKET BRANCH OF NULGE INAUGURATES NEWLY ELECTED EXCO’S- PRINCE GODWIN MAKES SECOND TERM

The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE), Eket Chapter, inaugurated Comrade Prince Godwin Uwem and other newly elected Executive members to pilot its affairs for the next 4 years.

Speaking at the event held on Wednesday, 21th June, 2023 at Eket council hall, the Akwa Ibom State NULGE Chairman, Mrs. Anestina Iweh congratulated the newly sworn-in executives and prayed for the spirit of togetherness at all times.

“I urged you all to have a strong and vibrant union, the branch chairman should be a man on ground, and make sure he is a man with grace and capacity. Don’t contest for NLUGE Chairman with the believe that there is money involved, there is no money, contest for the interest of the union”

“I want to believe the people you appoint to lead you today will represent you in their best capacity”

She thanked the Head of Service Eket Local Government Council for being a father to all, and giving then an open harms during arrival. Adding that she was so honored to have him at the event. She further charged the members to support the executives while praying God to keep the union alive, active and united.

Mrs. Anestina Iweh, acknowledged that the head of Service to the council in his office receiving the State team commended the NULGE Chairman Eket Chapter for a successful administration.

“He has made us know that, Prince Godwin Uwem Is humble and full of respect and in the past have done well, that is why I come out here today to give him support in his inauguration” she said.

However, Emmanuel Sambo Finance department moved the motion that NLUGE Eket branch should be Inaugurated, seconded by Emem Emmanuel Edem. In that vein, Oath of office was given to the branch Chairman and his Executives.

Anestina Iweh, expressed happiness over the massive support and trust given to Prince Godwin for the peaceful coexistence in Eket local government council coming up with consensus election, and bringing back Godwin Uwem for a second term, adding that he has perform credibly in his leadership.

Mr, Clifford Ubak, the Head of Service Eket LGC acknowledged the immense contributions of the union to the growth and development of the local government while admonishing the new executives to ensure that they are resolute and operate an inclusive leadership style towards taking the union to the next level.

Mr.Ubak, while appreciating the leadership of the union, charged them to toe the path of responsible trade unionism.

In acceptance speech on behalf of the Executives, the newly inaugurated President, Comrade Godwin Uwem expressed happiness over the massive support and trust given to him even during his immediate past administration. He extended gratitude to State National Exco’s for the numerous proactive measures taken in addressing the many challenges of workers in the state.

He pledged on behalf of the Executives to consolidate on the past gains while working in synergy with the NLC and other labour affiliates in ensuring that the wellbeing of the workers are of paramount importance. He thanked the Chairman Local Government, Rt.(Hon.) Akaniyene Tommey, and others for their outstanding leadership style while also enlisting the support of all members towards the success of the administration.
