Gov Udom Hands Over To Umo Eno .. .As Political Stakeholders Realign

On Monday, May 29, 2023, the immediate past governor of Akwa Ibom, Mr Udom Emmanuel, handed over the baton of the state leadership to his preferred candidate and duly elected governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.
This followed the expiration of Udom’s eight years reign which also marked the beginning of a new political era tagged The Golden Era.
The epoch – making event which took place at the popular Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo witnessed the swearing – in of Governor Umo Eno and his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi.
Dignitaries from all walks of life thronged the Stadium to witness the ceremony performed by the state chief judge, Justice Ekaette Obot.
They include party faithful, politicians, traditional and religious leaders, woman and youth groups, uniformed organizations, ethnic groups and youths among others.
The elated crowd erupted into frenzy as the duo appended their signatures after taking the Oath of Allegiance and that of office respectively.
With the successful inauguration, it is hoped that a new chapter has opened in Akwa Ibom whereby, through the midas touch, everything will become gold in Akwa Ibom.
