Emmanuel Jonas happy working with Niger Tornadoes striker David Okoromi

Emmanuel Jonas admits he’s enjoying his attacking partnership with Niger Tornadoes teammate David Okoromi.

Jonas appeared to be involved in all of Tornadoes’ attacking play, drifting past defenders for fun during their 2-0 win over Wikki Tourists on Wednesday. In total, he registered 5 shots on target (from 5 shots) and made 5 key passes all while operating at a pass accuracy of 91.4%

It was Jonas who set-up David Okoromi for his first goal in the game.

“Our understanding on the pitch has improved a lot and are able to find each other with assists,” Jonas told Lodgexpress official website. “It’s a special time for us as a pair and we are hoping to finish the season strongly in these next two months.

“The turning point for us was during a training session where we both paired upfront and had a natural understanding. Since then we have got to know each other better when we play together. Okoromi’s best quality is that he keeps believing until the end and never gives up. He chases every ball until it has completely gone out of play.

“He was right there when I needed my teammate to play the pass against Wikki and he struck it to hand us the opener on Wednesday and that’s why he is unique.”
