Gov Emmanuel Eulogizes Late DLBC Pastor Samuel Akpan Udo-mbang At Funeral

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has eulogized the late Deeper Life Bible Church, DLBC, Pastor Samuel Akpan Udo-Mbang, describing him as an “African soldier of the cross, warrior for Christ and ambassador of faith”.

Governor Udom Emmanuel was speaking Friday, at the Eket Sports Stadium, venue of the funeral service of the late Pastor Samuel Udo-mbang, who was a maternal Uncle of the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong.

Represented by his Deputy, Mr Moses Ekpo, the Governor thanked God for the life of the late International Overseer of the Deeper Life Bible Church and noted that, he was indeed a great Soldier of the cross as well as an African Ambassador of Faith in Swaziland, where he served.

While extended the condolences of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State to the bereaved family of the departed clergy, the Governor urged the wife of the deceased, Mrs Comfort Samuel Akpan Udo-mbang, to be consoled by the fact that,her late husband lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation and had gone to be with his Creator.

Mr Udom Emmanuel stated that, though Pastor Udo-Mbang may no longer be with us, his life of service to humanity, and the many lives he impacted will continue to stand him out as a man who used the blessings of God for good.

” As he goes home to be with the Lord, I urge you to be consoled by the life of deep impact he has left behind and the souls he helped to bring to Christ. These are his legacies which will be sustained long after he has left us,” the governor added.

On his part, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong, in a tribute described the death of his maternal uncle as a paradox – a mixture of sadness and joy. Sad on the one hand because his mortal body is no longer with us but joy on the other hand, because he has gone to be in peace with the Lord.

Comrade Ememobong, said the values his uncle taught them had not only been helpful but have made them well focused citizens, adding that he will continue to honour his memory by preserving his ideals in education, leadership, mentorship and evangelism.

The biography of the deceased read by his daughter, described late Pastor Samuel Udo-mbang as a builder of human capacity who will be remembered by his numerous mentees and Christindom as one who served God with devotion and deployed his youthful energies in spreading the gospel of Christ.

Apart from working in the Vineyard of the Lord, the late Pastor Samuel Udo-mbang was also an Educationist who served in different capacities. He was also a school founder

The funeral service was attended by people from all walks of life who thronged the Eket Sports Stadium, to bid farewell to the renowned Pastor, Christian Missionary and the National General Overseer of Deeper Life Bible Church, Mbabane, Swaziland, the late Pastor Samuel Udo-mbang, including: his sister and mother of the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Madam Rosemary Ememobong Essien.

Others included: the in-law of the deceased, Mkpisong Ememobong Essien, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt. Honourable Frank Archibong, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Akparawa James Edet, the SSA to the Governor on Information, Mr. Goddy Okon as well as Directors and staff of the Ministry of Information and Strategy who came out in large number to support their bereaved Commissioner, Comrade Ini Ememobong
