The Rivers State Governor and frontier of the five “rebel” governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike, has mocked the PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku

Abubakar, over the endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

While Atiku was the Vice President under Obasanjo between 1999 and 2007, the former President on Sunday not only endorsed the former governor of Anambra State but recommended him for Nigerians, especially the youths to vote for as the next president in the general elections this year.

Reacting to Obasanjo’s decision, on Monday, Governor Wike said it meant “there is something fundamentally wrong.”

Wike who spoke at the flag-off of the construction of Akpabu-Odido Road in Emohua and Ahoada West local government areas added that “I was praying that Obasanjo should not say anything. When I saw the letter last night, I was touched. If your principal cannot recommend you, then there is something fundamentally wrong.

“After all, you people went to see your principal to lobby him to recommend you. It took your principal a long time before he now wrote a letter to all Nigerians, saying, ‘Look, I am not too comfortable.'” .

“I am not bothered about other people but this one worked with you and he knows.”
