The President-General of Akwa Ibom Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr) Solomon D Etuk, CFR, has called on political office seekers to play the game according to the rules by focusing on issue based campaigns rather than campaign of calumny capable of generating violence and disharmony.

Speaking in Uyo on Tuesday when he received in audience the Labour Party Presidential standard bearer , Mr Peter Obi during his courtesy call on the Traditional Rulers Council, Ntenyin Etuk harped on the unity of Nigeria and peaceful coexistence among the citizens.

He pointed out that as royal fathers, their primary role is to advise all candidates and therefore charged Mr Peter Obi to keep to his campaign promises if elected, wishing him well in his pursuit.

Earlier, the Labor Party Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi said he was in the Chambers to present himself before his fathers and to seek support and blessings in his quest to put Nigeria on a new pedestrian.

Mr Obi who was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Margaret Obi, a foremost political economist, Professor Pat Utomi and other eminent personalities, took time out to reel out his manifesto, pledging to tackle the daunting economic and security challenges confronting the nation if elected.
