Pastor Umo Eno Harps on Preserving, Promoting Cultural Heritage

… Commends UDA, Ngba Ndiak Obolo over Culture-centred events

Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has reiterated the need for continuous preservation and promotion of the different cultural heritage in the state.

Speaking at the international convention of Ubium Developement Association ( UDA) and the 2022 Obolo Converge held at Ikot Okpudo/Ibiomin Ubium and Ibeno Local Government Secretariat, Ukpenekang respectively, he said culture is the way of life of a people which cannot be wished way.

He maintained that though some traditions could be given up for Christianity, culture cannot be jettisoned for any reason.

Pastor Eno noted that coming together in an atmosphere laced with culture and tradition shows the strength of a people and urged Akwa Ibom people, irrespective of location not to forget their roots.

The governorship hopeful stated that the Governor Udom Emmanuel-led administration is very committed to the peace, security and unity of the state, and assured everyone that when elected into office in 2023, his administration will further on the peace and prosperity across the state.

He commended the two communities for their efforts at identifying with and uniting their people adding that the ARISE Agenda contains strategic plans to promote culture and tourism in the state.

The high point of the UDA convention was a special motion moved and seconded by Hon. Otobong Bob and Obong Dan Akpan respectively, for adoption of Pastor Umo Eno as the sole candidate of the Ubium people.
