PHED Warns Staff Against Illegal Operations, Increases Salaries

Managing Director of the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution (PHED) Plc, Dr. Benson Uwheru, has warned staff of the company against unauthorised operations.
Uwheru said the consequences of such operations or undermining established processes could be very risky. He urged the workers to always adhere to processes and procedures of the establishment.
The warning followed recent incidents involving some staff of the company, who carried out unauthorised operations that raised serious dust from the public.
Uwheru deplored the spate of accidents witnessed in the company lately, noting that safety remains a cardinal focus in the company and that the staff of the company remains its most important asset.
Meanwhile, the PHED Managing Director, has announced an upward review of salaries of employees of the company by 20 per cent as part of his People and Performance Management Strategy.
A statement made available to newsmen, yesterday, in Port Harcourt by the Head, Corporate Communications, PHED, Mr. John Anonyai, noted that the upward review took effect from November 1, 2022.
The statement reads: “Upon resumption of office in July this year, following the restructuring of some DisCos by the Federal government, Dr. Uwheru, in his maiden speech, announced his three-point agenda as: growing revenue and improving collection efficiency, reducing losses, standardising processes, and improving employees’ welfare.”
He encouraged the staff to always put in their best performance in line with the Company’s vision and goals.
