Over 6000 Police Athletes in Uyo for BIPOGA 2022

The long awaited thirteenth Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA) of the Nigeria Police Force tagged “Uyo 2022” kicks off tomorrow Wednesday in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital.

The Games will last till Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

Already, over six thousand Police athletes, from the different zones of the Nigeria Police Force across the country have arrived the state capital for the competition.

The competition, which is open to members of the public, has as its theme “Promoting sporting excellence towards ensuring fitness for operational exigencies and combat readiness”.

It will be staged at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium, the Nest of Champions, Uyo Club, the Olympic-size swimming pool at Uyo township stadium, Nigerian Christian Institute, Ibom Hall and Ibom Icon Golf Course.

To this end, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Sir Monday Uko has urged members of the public not to be perturbed by the massive influx of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force into the state but to go about their normal businesses without apprehension.

The commissioner wished participants in the Games a memorable stay in the state and solicited hospitality and cooperation from the residents throughout the period of the Games.
