Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has knocked the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Parry (PDP), Iyorcha Ayu, over his boastful statement that he has the power to stop the political aspirations of the party’s candidates loyal to the five governors in his camp.

Wike, while briefing journalists at his private residence in Port Harcourt on Sunday, said Ayu lacked integrity, insisting the PDP chairman was corrupt.

“I dare the National Chairman to stop any contestant if he has what it takes. It is in this country where you say a man is very corrupt and he is trying to talk,” Wike said.

PlatinumPost reports that Governors Wike, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Seyi Makinde of Oyo and Samuel Ortom of Benue State that formed the G5 group, have called on Ayu to resign his position following the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 polls.
