INEC redeploys two RECs and eight directors

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has redeployed two resident Electoral Commissioners, RECs and eight Directors of Departments.

Those redeployed include the resident electoral commissioner of Cross River and Edo States, as well as directors of ICT, and others.

This is contained in a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman, information and voter education committee, Festus Okoye on Tuesday.

The statement noted that in accordiance with the extant laws, the commission redeployed the REC of criss River State, dr. Cyril Omorogbe to Akwa Ibom State, while Dr. Alalibo Johnson Sinikiem of Edo State, has been moved to Cross River State.
Meanwhile, the Director of ICT, Chidi Nwafor is now the Administrative Secretary in Enugu State, Paul Omokore, who was Director, Planning and Monitoring Department at the Headquarters in Abuja, is now the Director of ICT and the Administrative Secretary of Anambra State, Chima Duruaku, is now Director, Planning and Monitoring Department, at the Headquarters, Abuja.

Others are, the Administrative Secretary in Enugu State, Jude Okwuanu, now the Administrative Secretary in Anambra State. Usman Musa Wase who was acting Director, Human Resource Management at the Headquarters, Abuja, is now acting Administrative Secretary in Nasarawa State.

Salisu Garba who was the Director in the Electoral Operations Department, is now the Director of Procurement at Headquarters in Abuja. Waziri Zanna who was the acting Administrative Secretary in the FCT is now acting Director of Human Resource Management at the Headquarters in Abuja, as the Acting Administrative Secretary in Nasarawa State, Godwin Wada Edibo is redeployed as acting Administrative Secretary in FCT.

The statement noted that the redeployments or postings take immediate effect, even as handing and taking over are to be concluded on or before Friday, August 26, 2022.

The Commission had on march 24, 2022, during the redeployment of 385 staff Nationwide, announced that reployment of staff will be a routine exercise which will continue from time to time.
